Giving 'aid' to a country that sends a huge amount of money to Poland via the EU is a joke

If the EU (Germany) did not spend Billions of Euro's propping up Poland it would not be able to afford dehumidifiers and Germany could buy their own millions of times over

Just an observation ;)

Now China feels threatened by Lithuania and try to coerece them ?

China’s trade halt with Lithuania over Taiwan ties sends warning to Europe

…...

Lithuania and Taiwan have agreed to establish mutual representative offices as a sign of deepening ties between the two governments. In response Beijing recalled its ambassador from Vilnius and expelled Lithuania’s from Beijing.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-diplomatic-office-row-beijing-tension-taipei
It has since suspended rail freight to Lithuania, according to Taiwan’s foreign affairs ministry, and reportedly halted export permits for the country’s producers, including from the agriculture, animal husbandry, and timber industries.

…..

“The use of coercion by China on Lithuania is likely to tarnish China’s image and standing in Europe and in the wider world, and it is unlikely to achieve the objective it has, at least in terms of reversing Lithuania ’s policy towards Taiwan,” said Prof Steve Tsang director of the SOAS China Institute.

“Lithuania’s political leaders seem to be gambling that they will be better off under the protection of the United States. It is interesting and perhaps telling that they feel that way because it is likely that they had discussions with Poland and Germany via EU channels before coming to that conclusion.”

The EU barons appear to be using the Biden crisis as a renewed reason for combined EU military. So much for Biden's version of events that America's back.

I just cant see the germans relinquishing control of german units, to go around invading peace loving people in lieu of dollar rich 'mericans arriving on a jet plane.

Only thing to change this, would be Ruskia invading someone that mattered, i.e. within 500 miles of Berlin, or somehow Germany wins some bizarre 'war' somewhere, where the locals tell them how great they are.

So presumably this is just france, saying USA doesnt care, lets talk about EU army, and the germans, being polite, accept the meeting request....

If anything Chinas policy didn't seem to work here. They "invested" billions in Guinea in 2009.

When ideology take precedence over pragmatism somebody have to pay.

Firstly, the migration crisis in Lithuania...
Secondly, Lithuania faced some of the most massive protests in its modern history, which in fact grew into riots...
Third, a crisis broke out in Lithuania’s relations with China that same week...
Fourthly, the cyber theft of secret “important documents” from the Foreign Ministry has become an impressive addition to other problems that have fallen on the republic in one fell swoop. Apparently, really sensitive information was stolen, the leakage of which “could cause great damage, primarily in relation to allies.”

Reports from the Belarusian-Lithuanian economic war continue to arrive. In addition to the aforementioned news about the imminent changes in the logistics of export of potash fertilizers, it became known this week that Lithuanian carriers turned to their government for help , since from August 30, their trucks will need to install navigation seals to enter Belarus. Tellingly, Minsk did not apply this rule to Poland and Latvia: only Lithuanians will suffer.

The Lithuanian port saw its cargo volumes decrease by 1.6 percent year-on-year to 25.507 million tons in January through July.
Lithuania's Butinge oil terminal, which is owned by Orlen Lietuva, handled 3.825 million tons of crude in January through July, down 14.1 percent year-on-year.

So who will pay the compo?

Lithuania does not plan to back-down

China picked a fight with Lithuania over its decision to exchange diplomatic offices with Taiwan, opening a new fight between China and Europe that could be a bellwether for Beijing’s ability to bend small countries to its will.

The showdown appears to have degenerated into a stalemate. Beijing recalled its ambassador from Vilnius—the first time it has done so with a country in the European Union—limited trade with Lithuania, and suspended rail freight services between the two countries. Despite the pressure campaign from a country with a GDP more than 260 times the size of Lithuania’s, Vilnius will not back down, its foreign minister said in a recent interview.

Seriously, imagine of Hitler had put the jews in those boats. What would 1940 GB have done?

By 1940 GB was at war with Germany but in June 1939 British PM Neville Chamberlain agreed to take 288 of 908 Jewish refugees from MS St. Louise after neither the US nor Canada would let them land.
The rest were taken by France, Belgium and Netherlands but after Germans invaded ended in concentration camps where most of them died.

Never seen an idle Jew - never seen one on benefits - never seen one dealing drugs

Shame on US and Canada for refusing in 1939

As far as I am concerned, as soon as they arrive in boats from France they are detained and shipped off to a camp on one of the small islands off Scotland - my suggestion would be Gruinard

Need to be also rounding up all the illegals already here and have a policy of deport or die

Sick to death of the French pushing them over here - about time we shoved the whole lot of them back

RNLI won't be getting a penny from me in the future - they need to stick to what they are there for - not as a free taxi for migrants

For clarity, I think your talking about the current illegal migrants......
