In Odesa, representatives of the National Corps party attacked the film crew of Zik TV channel during its live broadcast on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
It should be noted that a group of radicals interrupted the broadcast and started pushing journalists, as well as invited guests – Tetiana Plachkova and Bohdan Hihanov. The intruders also damaged the equipment.

Two folks hospitalized. BOTH sides have been detained by authorities. Meatheads with no brains. Essentially thugs for hire with loyalties to the highest bidder.

A week ago or a week later, this could have been in reverse. This harks back to the criminal wars from the 1990s. Much bigger problem than squabbles between marginal extremists. For the Ukrainian state that is vehemently against private gun ownership and maintains a monopoly of violence, the challenge is to re-assert its authority as the conflicts between different organized gangs of vagabonds are becoming increasingly frequent and all the disputes are being handled through violence.

Just read more about it. Apparently, the guys who were the "victims" are associated to some dude named Ilya Kiva, who is either off his meds or suffered some sort of breakdown a few years back.

He used to be a Nationalist War Hero and was decorated for his actions in combat against Russian forces. Then he was a presidential candidate from a socialist party Now he is a member of a pro-Russian party, “Opposition Platform — For Life, He was also apparently caught masturbating in parliament and was cursing for date on his mobile phone during parliamentary session. Repeatedly threatens physical violence against his opponents.

I think he has a bad case of PTSD that went untreated and escalated.

The other guys, an agony of Kolomoyski whom the US is trying to force out of the Ukrainian political spectrum.

He also commented on the detention of 14 young men who, according to the police, attacked the bus.

“As far as I know, these people have nothing to do with this case. If they do, then I hope that the Security Service of Ukraine, which should deal with this, the General Prosecutor's Office will have the will, conscience and character in this regard and will award these guys with medals for fighting against separatism."

They all are mad.

There are more and more protesters under the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Looks like Bulgaria, Belarus and Ukraine keep reinfecting each other.

No riots. Demonstrations. I'm in total support. When the country is governed by comedians it's up to the people to keep them in line. The sate is being run like a script reading for a movie, throw some ridiculous idea out and see how the populace would react. The latest one is to allow Russian forces to inspect forward Ukrainian positions for possible cease fire violations without any reciprocity.

Revolutions, riots, demonstrations, protests are just words and they are easily interchangeable at that like in the events in Belarus, Bulgaria, Ukraine, US, Venezuela, etc, etc, etc depending on a spin that politicians want and media provides.

Bullshit. The village of Shumy is the area of responsibility of the 503rd Marines Battalion. This is a fake video. However, if the Russians do show up there is a high probability of civil unrest and provocations. Ukrainians are stressing that inspections should include positions from both sides. On a strategic level Russians are trying to torpedo the new Normandy summit. Most likely the next step full on cease fire violations .

Kiev derails joint inspection with DPR in Shumy area

Ukraine demanded that the inspection participant from the DPR Ruslan Yakubov, who is head of the DPR Office at the JCCC show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate and Russian or Ukrainian passport, and that he have no abbreviation “DPR” on his insignia or IDs.

Kiev demands DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) inspector to declare himself a Russian so they can prove that they war against Russia.

Yes, an absolute valid condition since DPR/LNR are not officially recognized parties. Russia is trying to extricate itself from the conflict trying to portray it as a "civil war". If Russia pulls out, this will be over in a matter of days, and the Ukrainian forces won't even have to enter the area. Remember what Lukashenko stated, that if there is a general strike, he'll replace Belarussian workers with the ones from Donbas.

Russia is not at war against Ukraine, it takes part in Minsk and Normandy groups discussions only as intermediary just like Germany and France.
Therefore Kiev has to talk to Donetsk and Lugansk if it really wants to end this civil war.

Nope. The war wasn't possible without Russian interference. There are no independent power base for the collaborators. There will be no direct negotiations no matter who is the President of Ukraine or what government runs the country.

Kiev also signed Minsk treaty that obligated to talk with Donetsk and Lugansk representatives.

Anyway this is in Ukraine interest to resolve this conflict. Russia, Donetsk and Lugansk are ok with current situation.

The maidan wasn't possible without American and Europian interference and without maidan and violent power takeover there wouldn't be this civil war.
Anyway it is on now and without direct negotiations it will continue and Ukraine will go further and further down the drain. :(

Maydan happened because Yanukovich and his Russian masters have miscalculated badly. There is no civil war, but Russian invasion. However, as I've stated many times in the past, there is no point for Ukraine to recover the occupied parts of Donbas even if it was able to do so militarily with insignificant losses. The ares is a wasteland. Just this week 4 Ukrainian servicemen died fighting forest fires, but not from fires directly but because of the land mines. So, here is the practical challenge number 1. All of the "objects" of industrial value has already been away by Russia or destroyed by Russian appointed overseers. There are few operating coal mines, but they are expensive to run and maintain in the long term. However, the most important consideration, all of the quality people have left the area, settling in mainland Ukraine or Russia.

De-Stalinization of the little "North Koreas" would take a generation, the re-built would cost untold billions that Ukraine doesn't have. All in all even if Ukraine would be able to get these territories back on its terms with no string attached, the recovery would sink the country economically. In short, severing all ties, building a wall, and forgetting about these badlands is the only sensible option for Ukraine, but the Ukrainian politicians are too chickenshit to admit this.

Maidan happened because interference from EU and US, there is civil war, there is no Russian invasion, if there was Russian army would be on Ukraine's western borders long ago. Let's hope that reason prevails in Ukraine and they let go of territories that don't want to be controlled by Kiev or became a federation like many other countries, the alternative is a failing state.

There will be no federation. Accepting territories back into into the fol on the Russian terms is a suicide. If Russia didn't commit fully to conventional invasion and decided to go "hybrid", well, that's on Russia (yet, another miscalculation). I'm totally OK with Cyprus scenario with Moldovan being a much worse, worse alternative.

To continue this civil war is a suicide for Ukraine. There is a hybrid war but not between Ukraine and Russia but between US and Russia and promoting maidan was part of it.
