The invasion continues

🇬🇧 Under the cover of darkness in the middle of the night - Bus loads of Migrants are ferried into a Luxury Hotel in Canary Wharf, London - one of the Capitals most expensive areas.

All Military Age Fighting Men who look like they’re dressed in Uniform clutching an envelope.

What’s in the envelope & who provided it to them?

The whole thing becomes more sinister by the day.

Just what England needs - stupid lawyers. I didn't realize DEI was so prominent there. Reading through this thread it becomes clear if you have a business relating to tourist industry, you should have sold it two years ago. Good luck getting rid of a B&B now!

What a BUNCH of Mud Sharks!!! They are destroying this country right before my eyes!!

Copy and paste from AI? Didn't some graduate in the US boast about that. Seemingly without thought of the furure.

Realistically Ai will be like another plague, instead of the walking dead its the walking unemployed. And if its that much smarter why not have it delete the Pm.

Saw something, that 1 robot will replace 2 human workers, so robot is worth 50k pa. But costs only 5000.

Maybe we should give a robot to every 16 year old?

Labourite calls through a bullhorn for all right wing demonstrators to have their throats slit, to dispose of them.

The only thing missing in the trial was the entire courtroom applauding him for it.

Acquitted, naturally.

Be careful what you post about this verdict on social media though, anything negative and the incompetent clowns will be kicking down the door.

So... in an interesting turn of event, the UK has decided to go after 4chan.

Related to that was a separate site - 8 chan, I think - that was removed from public viewing in America for being too "dark". Stuff like promoting national socialism, racism and revolt. I only went there once just to see what it was about & noticed there was a lot of talk about drugs. It's probably still around on the dark web. So getting rid of 4 chan is a possibility. (Wouldn't miss it myself.)

How come the American government and American attorneys felt entitled to go after Pirate Bay for breaching American copyright law then?

I'm not sayin Ofcom is morally right to go after 4chan, but the idea that website operators don't have to respect the laws of the territories where they make their content available (and earn revenue) is patently false. If 4chan doesn't want to have to abide by British laws, there's a very simple solution to that: block all British IPs.

You know what's kind of funny? I don't think I've ever seen that kind of letter directed against Beijing, Moscow, Teheran, Cairo, or any other government with full-blown censorship in effect.

It's pure posturing. About 20 years ago congress passed a law that prohibted US courts from enforcing foreign judgements over matters that would be legal in the US. This was done because people were suing for libel/slander in the especially lax British court system (where a matter being true is not a defence against slander or liable) and then trying to get enforcement of said judgements in the US. Notoriously the most common perpetrators of such actions had been foreign governments like Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc.

So in effect, there is zero chance of a British judgement like that being enforced in the US anyway.

Pirate Bay impacted revenues by circumventing copyrights and such.

People got things for free, which is a big no no. It impacted the wallets of publishing companies, editors and so on and though not all of them are either domiciled in the US, or from the US, most of them are.
So, unauthorized distribution of not-free copyrighted content.

And the US is touchy about that, so why not expend it and turn themselves into a White Knight who will take on the fight for the world. 🤷‍♂️

So, content wise, going after Pirate Bay makes sense.

4chan however? Heh... sure the content's quality is questionable, to put it in an excessively generous way (though some channels were genuinely good).
But in term of harm and damages? Equally if not a tid bit lower than other sites like KiwiFarm or even Reddit.
