Sure. The JMSDF frequently trains with the US Navy. Their sailors even attend US Navy schools in the states especially San Diego. There are JMSDF interpreters in the classrooms. Why the USN for training? The JMSDF has much of the same tecnology as the USN.

After official confirmation, that Izumo-class "destroyers" are, in fact, light carriers, Japans start creating new carriers without any masks.

And yes, one of the Izumo-class light carriers was named "Kaga", split in Yanks faces, like if Germans will call their carrier "Tirpitz".

Looks like the JMSDF will take delivery of F-35Bs in the next few years.

Not really. Kaga is just an historical name as many fighting ships have. Many Americans are historically illiterate. And have no clue that Kaga name is likened to this ships which took part on the attack on Pearl Harbor;

JS Kaga. She is fitting out here at Yokosuka Naval Yard on November 20, 1928. Evident is the main identifier between Akagi and Kaga from a distance aside from speed, the massive funnel piping along the starboard beam, making crew conditions unbearably hot in the crew quarters.

Kaga sporting her newly redesigned superstructure, flight deck and funnel. The previous funnel was completely unsatisfactory for service and was replaced with the design fitted to Akagi. Her island was also opposite to Akagi's which later down the line in carrier construction proved to be the superior design.

....And the US Navy has had and still has many ships named after battles & historical/retired ships..

Yars: And she was taking part in the Pearl-Harbour party. Is it polite for "baka-gaijin" feelings? As I know, earlier you avoided to give such names to ships, didn't you? I can remember only "Ojasio" submarine.

Uzushio:
yes but we are naming after ww2 ships its a pride of our navy. I don't think it polite for "Baka gaijin feelings" but I do not like how USA put limits on our military. we are sending Kaga there to remember Pearl Harbor attack.

Sure. But it is a problem of ordinary Americans. By the way, in Japan word "baka" means "fool", "stupid"; "gaijin" - "foreigner", "baka-gaijin" - American.

Black Pawn . I'm puzzled. Perhaps I misunderstood your post.

As for ships with historical names I was referring to US Navy ships. I knew that the JMSDF was naming it's DDHs after WWII IJN carriers.

Here are some USN ships named after battles;

USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52)
USS Bunker Hill (CG 52)
USS Antietam (CG 54)
USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55)
USS San Jacinto (CG 56)
USS Lake Champlain (CG 57)
USS Philippine Sea (CG 58)
USS Princeton (CG 59)
USS Normandy (CG 60)
USS Monterey (CG 61)
USS Chancellorsville (CG 62)
USS Cowpens (CG 63)
USS Gettysburg (CG 64)
USS Chosin (CG 65)
USS Hue City (CG 66)
USS Shiloh (CG 67)
USS Anzio (CG 68)
USS Vicksburg (CG 69)
USS Lake Erie (CG 70)
USS Wasp (LHD 1)
USS Essex (LHD 2)
USS Kearsarge (LHD 3)
USS Boxer (LHD 4)
USS Bataan (LHD 5)
USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6)
USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7)
USS Makin Island (LHD 8)

There are many now retired USN ships named after sea battles in WWII. Here are a few:

USS Okinawa
USS Guadalcanal
USS Shangri-La
USS Saipan
USS Tarawa
USS Peleliu

we are sending Kaga there to remember Pearl Harbor attack.

Perhaps Kaga will be attending RIMPAC 2018 at Pearl Harbor in June 2018. I'm not sure.

Sorry. More likely, it is my misunderstanding of American and Japan culture.
From the Russian point of view, even little Japan minesweeper, named "Tsushima" in 1993 (year of big illusions in Japan), was a reason for cooling of Russian-Japan relationships, as the sign of the growing Japan revanchism and increasing a war possibility. Japan government know, that we know what they think, so they don't allow themselves to name their ships as "Fuji", "Asama", "Iwate", "Kasuga", "Takachiho", "Yoshino", "Kasagi", "Niitaka" or something in this sort.
May be, if you will call your first B-21 as "Enola Gay" and "Bockscar", Japans will swallow it. May be, if Germans will call their first carriers as "Tirpitz" and "Bismark" - Brits will swallow it too.
But in the understanding of an ordinary Russian men - it will be sort of humilation.
Do you have ship or other military unit, called after William Laws Calley, Jr? (Sorry, if it is offensive question - it's just my ignorance).
Perhaps Kaga will be attending RIMPAC 2018 at Pearl Harbor in June 2018.
It will be funny. I wanna see the reaction in the Japans info-space.

@Black Pawn you really do seem to have a political point about everything you see here at MI.Net and clearly have no respect for anything that is not Russian. I remind you that this is a Photo thread and cannot see the point you are making here at all. Also I don't like the tone of your posts, you seem to be looking for an argument in every post you make (almost trollish behaviour) and I find your posts insulting. Don't reply to my message here. I am getting tired of your constant whining about everything that is not Russian.

Its just my ignorance
very true

As I said DO NOT REPLY about this point, I have not given you any warning points, next time I see a post like this you will be gone so think about what you are posting

HOKKAIDO, Japan (Aug. 16, 2017) - U.S. Marines light armored vehicles and Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force tanks prepare to conduct live fire training at the live fire range in Hokudaien during Northern Viper 17.

Japan's Luzi 10 tanks use a 1200-horsepower 8-cylinder 4-stroke diesel engine with a thrust-to-weight ratio of 27 hp/ton. The main weapon is the 120mm slide gun developed by the Japan Steel Corporation. It uses an automatic loading machine and does not require manpower to load the shells. The Type 10 tank uses an active hydraulic and pneumatic suspension system, which makes the tank's off-road driving smooth and greatly enhances the accuracy of firing in progress.
