The Netherlands increased it's threat level from 3 to 4 a few days ago.

Allegedly Hamas members looking for Jewish or Israelis targets… there’s no of few « soft » targets ever since the days of IS circa 2014-2017, but the situation has become certainly eerie.

Not a single day, or hour in all of Europe pass by without an antisemitic incident, assault or worse.

We used to call it the « Arab streets » (Middle East, North Africa…) some thirty years ago during the Intifada, thing is the term applies to Paris, Berlin and London today.

Authorities have now reported the number of fatalities has exceeded 15.

The Czech police identified all 13 victims, all of whom are of Czech nationality, 25 people were injured, among them two citizens of the UAE and one citizen of the Netherlands. A week earlier, the murderer killed a man and his two-month-old daughter in a forest on the outskirts of Praha. The police were on his trail and declared a manhunt for him. On Thursday morning, he murdered his father in the village of Hostouň near Praha and then left for Praha. The police received information that there was danger and evacuated one building of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Charles University, where the killer was supposed to give a lecture. However, the faculty has several buildings in the historic center of Praha. The murderer came into the main building of the faculty and started shooting. The police arrived at the scene within five minutes, in another 15 minutes policemen isolated him and he committed suicide. Thanks to the quick intervention of the police, there were not many more victims. In recent months, the killer legally purchased and registered several weapons that were probablly used for the massacre - ČZ vz. 61 Škorpion, Glock 47 and 45, Francolin Guardian, Beretta 71, SIG Sauer P322 and Savage Arms 110 PCS. It looks like he used some variant of semi-auto AR-15 as well.

The faculty is my Alma Mater, jesus, I see the corridors and classrooms in my head now.
The interior is austere, long straight corridors with high ceilings, large staircases, large doors of the classrooms, minimal chance to hide somewhere. I will never walk around the building again with thoughts of the stormy beautiful years of my studies, but with the thoughts that a murderer was shooting and killing inside...
Luckily my friends, who are pedagogues at the faculty are ok...

Following a string of arrests, warning levels have been raised in Madrid, Vienna and Cologne on account of a "clear and present terrorist threat" that could materialise tomorrow or on New Year's Eve.
