The purile comments from members who seem to otherwise be adults has me shaking my head in disbelief.

Oh well even more; Senator Gohmert (not the brightest Rep Senator I must say) directly quoted Nancy Pelosi during his argument on the Senate floor during the impeachment hearings: "I don't know why there aren't more uprisings all over the country".
The left, with there utterly low level of self awareness, took it as a call for more violence on his part. "Gohmert is inciting violence!"
Problem is, that is, verbatim, what Pelosi said back in June 2018! (June 14, 2018 to be exact):

I dont think you should go. I just wish you would use your intellect more constructively, more reasoned argument rather than insults. I am probably too sensitive. I apologize for my comment. the whole political discourse is frustrating at the moment and I feel both sides are almost equally to blame. 4 years ago, when Clinton was nominated my reaction was "why?". I had the same feeling when Trump was nominated. "why him?". I thought both sides had better choices that were ignored.
unfortunately, in 4 years I think both sides will both be even further up their respective nether regions and we will be back with the same ol same ol.
