Rus-Ukr negotiations will begin within an hour.
Ukrainian delegation reportedly on their way in a Polish helicopter.
The Office of the President of Ukraine declares that his main goal of negotiations with Russia is an immediate ceasefire and withdrawal of Russian troops.

There are also unconfirmed reports, from Mariupol, of Azov troops parking military vehicles in direct proximity of schools and medical facilities.

He doesn't strike me anymore as the sly fox he used to be … more like a rabid fox frothing at the snout.
Who knows?! There's even the possibility that he had COVID which was of course kept secret, but he didn't escape unscathed. The virus is known to cause all kinds of nasty, lasting damage to your organs.

This will turn out to be a Russian pyrrhic win and quite possibly the beginning of the end for Putin's regime.

Let's not draw early conclusions. It may be looking bad on strategic level when looking at how far the Russians advanced, but this could very well end in defeat for them. It's not far fetched at all at this point.

^^^ What the fvck is that? How do you expect ex-Eastern Bloc states' MiG-29s to fight against Russian Su-27SMs or a similar sh1t? The latter have MUCH better radars, avionics and missiles.

The same happened to Indian citizens yesterday. Some literally took a beating at a checkpoint on the Polish border. The Twitter video can be found a few dozen pages back in this thread.

The planes that will be transferred will probably just be used for spare parts. Sending the entire planes is easier than breaking them down beforehand, like buying a complete parts car rather than hunting down rare individual parts on Ebay.

Cause the objective is defense, not wipe out the entire Russian Air Force by giving *sign of the cross* the Ghost *sign of the cross* a Eurofighter.

Yuval Noah Harari, Israeli historian, writer and professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Photo: botost/444.hu
"Less than a week into the war, it seems increasingly likely that Vladimir Putin is heading for a historic defeat. He may win every battle, but he may lose the war."
This is the opening of an article in The Guardian by Israeli historian and author Yuval Noah Harari, who argues that the Russian president simply miscalculated before invading Ukraine and did not expect the kind of Karakhan resistance that Russian troops are now facing.

"Putin's dream of rebuilding the Russian empire has always been based on the idea that Ukraine is not a real nation, that Ukrainians are not a real people, and that the people of Kiev, Kharkiv and Lviv all yearn for Moscow's rule. Putin has told this lie so many times that he seems to have believed it himself."

According to Harari, Putin overestimated some of the circumstances before triggering the armed conflict. He thought that Russia's military superiority was big enough to invade Ukraine in a few days and that NATO would not intervene openly, especially not in such a short time. He also expected that Germany would hesitate to impose tough sanctions because of Europe's dependence on Russian oil and gas. He planned to run through the Ukrainians in a few days, set up a puppet government in Kiev and by the time the West wised up, it would be too late.

But it was not overestimating these factors that was the biggest mistake the Russian president made, according to Harari. Putin really believed that Ukraine had no independent national identity and would accept Moscow's tutelage. "In Crimea in 2014, the people hardly resisted the Russian occupiers. Why should it be any different in 2022?" the Russian president must have thought, according to the Israeli historian.

Now it looks very much, Harari continues, as if Putin's gamble is failing: the Ukrainian people are resisting wholeheartedly, earning the admiration of the whole world - and winning the war.

"There are many dark days ahead. The Russians can still conquer all of Ukraine. But to win the war, the Russians would have to hold Ukraine, and they can only do that if the Ukrainian people let them. That looks increasingly unlikely."
Hate is the ugliest emotion, writes Harari, who says that's why Putin wanted to move quickly and quietly through Ukraine, because now "every Ukrainian killed increases the hatred of Ukrainians." Because hatred is also a hidden treasure that can sustain resistance for generations. By forcing Putin to engage in bloody fighting, it is almost certain that his dream will never come true.

"The Russian Empire's death certificate will not bear the name of Mikhail Gorbachev, but that of Vladimir Putin. Gorbachev made Russians and Ukrainians feel like brothers; Putin made them enemies and ensured that the Ukrainian nation would henceforth define itself against Russia."
According to Harari, stories of Ukrainian courage can inspire not only Ukrainians, but the entire world: the governments of European nations, the US government, and even the oppressed citizens of Russia.

"If the Ukrainians dare to stop a tank with their bare hands, the German government can dare to supply them with anti-tank missiles, the US government can dare to cut Russia off from SWIFT, and Russian citizens can dare to demonstrate their opposition to this senseless war."

The historian says the war will probably last a long time, but the most important issue has already been decided. Ukraine has proved that it is a real nation, that Ukrainians are a real people, and that they do not want to live under a new Russian empire. The open question is how long it will take for this message to penetrate the thick walls of the Kremlin.

If I were to speculate, I'd say he was seeing the slowly arriving end of his era as dear leader and tried one last hail-mary attempt to achieve his goals of a greater glorious Russia with him being Peter the Great come again. Seems as though he fvcked up big time. It's a damned shame that so many innocent people are made to suffer over the ambitions of one president and the ineptitude of another.

It looks as though the Russian military is starting to commit its other military capabilities after a questionable start. The video shows a Su-34 bomber reportedly flying over Kharkiv.

The third video , really ? Are we to believe that the Russian military is that incompetent ? As for the fourth people lay dead while commuters stroll past on their way to work . Hopefully someone will think to call an ambulance to take them to the morgue . I may be wrong but some of the news cycles I'm seeing are becoming more bizaire by the minute .

Ok they are probably giving them Mig29s simply because the infrastructure to maintain them is there, as well as, the know how in maintaining those planes and flying them. It would take a bit of time to get proficient in flying a new aircraft, more so one with a totally different set of avionics characteristics. It would take even more training to be combat ready on one.

Damn it, man! The Ghost is only one man!
