On December 4, the Ministry of National Defense signed with the Łucznik-Radom Arms Factory a three-year contract for the supply of 20,000 Vis 100 guns. The weapon will be sent to units of Territorial Defense, Land Forces, Air Force and Navy from the second half of 2019. Deliveries under the first agreement will end in 2021.

The name Vis 100 was given to the design previously developed by the Fabryka Broni (Arms Factory), previously called in the factory PR-15 Ragun (it is an abbreviation of Pistolet Radomski 2015, and Ragun was created from the combination of the words Radom and Gun). Work on the construction began in 2013, and the weapon itself was revealed to the public in 2014. The official name given by the Minister of National Defense refers to the wz. 35 Vis, produced by Fabryka Broni in 1936-1939. Number 100 is a reference to the introduction of weapons on the anniversary of the Polish independence.

According to the agreement signed in 2015, 12 serial vehicles will be modernized by Polish ZM "Bumar-Łabędy" with the cooperation of the German Rheinmetall Landsysteme (RLS). The rest of Leopard 2PL will be brought to the new standard already independently in Poland in 2019-2021. The next stage is the transformation of ZM "Bumar-Łabędy" into the maintenance and repair base and support for the operation of tanks. The company from Gliwice will become the owner of the right to modernize in Poland. In turn, "Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne" from Poznań will be responsible for repairs of tank engines.
On December 28, 2015, the Armament Inspectorate signed a contract worth PLN 2.415 billion with the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) and ZM Bumar-Łabędy. The contract includes the modernization of 128 Leopard 2A4 tanks to the 2PL standard. On February 18, 2016 PGZ entered into an agreement with Rheinmetall Landsysteme as a strategic partner. The original contract included an option to modernize the additional 14 Leopards 2A4. In May 2018, an annex worth PLN 300 million was signed, including the introduction of tanks to the Leopard 2PL standard. Thus, the total number of modernized German medium tanks under the contract increased to 142.
From the beginning of December 2018, negotiations on the next annex to the original agreement are in progress. It is intended to cover the granting of additional amounts for tank repairs and the supply of special equipment. The value of the contract may reach over PLN 400 million. Upgrading to the Leopard 2PL standard will increase ballistic resistance and improve observation systems. The changes include the introduction of additional turret armor, new observation instruments for gunner and commander, reversing camera and electric cannon trigger. The modernization will also include the installation of an auxiliary power unit, a modernized fire protection system and a digital communication bus. According to plans, the stabilization system of the cannon and tower drives from hydraulic to electric ones will be destroyed. In addition, new types of ammunition will be integrated into the vehicle (anti-tank DM63 and multi-task DM11).

On December 31, 2018, four F-16C "Jastrząb" multirole fighters from the 31st Tactical Air Base in Poznań-Krzesiny landed in the 1st Air Base in Szawle, Lithuania, as part of the 49th NATO Baltic Air Policing (BAP). The formal takeover of responsibility for the airspace of the Baltic states will take place on January 3, 2019. Under the "PKW Orlik 8" in the 1st Air Base in Siauliai, four multirole fighter F-16C "Jastrząb" from the 31st Tactical Air Base landed.
It will be the eighth mission of the Polish Air Force over the Baltic States and the second, during which the F-16C multi-role aircraft will be used. Earlier, as part of the Polish Military Contingent (PKW) "Orlik 7", from May 1 to August 31 2017, four Polish F-16s guarded the airspace of the Baltic states together with the Spanish C-15 Hornet in Ämari. On May 15, 2017, the first Russian capture of the Su-24M tactical bomber by the Spaniards and a plane for visual and electronic reconnaissance of Ił-20M by Poles took place. In turn, on June 21, the Russian Tu-154M government aircraft with the Russian defense minister Gen. Sergei Szoygu aboard, in escort of the Su-27P fighter, was intercepted by the Polish F-16C on the Baltic Sea.
Earlier, from 2005, the Polish Air Force was delegating MiG-29 fighters. Initially, during each 3-month shift, there were eight aircraft on duty. At present, the missions have been extended to four months and the quota size limit has been abolished. The direct cause of the changes is the increased aviation activity of the Russian Air Force (WKS) on the Baltic Sea.
