The family of a British soldier killed in Iraq have criticised the decision to send him there weeks after he finished his training.
Gordon Gentle, 19, from Glasgow, was killed when his vehicle was caught in an explosion during a patrol in Basra.
The fusilier's family said he finished his training six weeks ago and it was wrong to send him there so soon.
However, the Ministry of Defence said he was fully trained and offered sympathy to his family.
The 19-year-old from Pollok was serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Highland Fusiliers.
He was killed and two other soldiers injured on the day the US-led administration handed over power to the new Iraqi government.
