The German police seem to be quite unlucky with the MCX. E.g. in the city of Berlin there are hardly any suitable long-distance shooting ranges operated by the police. So the Berlin PD is forced to prod hunting clubs to let them use their ranges, or they need to take a day trip to an army range in the countryside. The sparse training for regular cops and a lack of optics in the initial procurement eventually made the department state that apart from SF, nobody really could take potshots at perpetrators over a distance of like 100 m if needed.
On the other hand the state police of Schleswig-Holstein were apparently too trigger-happy in their training. Three years after procuring a large batch of MCXs, they had ruined a dozen or so barrels from excessive use. The barrel lifecycle for the version acquired by the SH police is rated at 10,000 rounds by SIG.
