Also consider that the US/NATO is moving towards ABM and air defence using Direct Energy Weapons (lasers). The speed of light is 880.726 mach. Faster than any kinetic projectile will ever be, capable of intercepting a new threat every few seconds (with current experimental technology) and with practically unlimited ammunition.

Another Wunderwaffe that's not all that it's hyped up to be when even now "crappy" Patriot can intercept it.

"Won't be able to be intercepted for decades to come."
Don't bet your life on that, which you are.

Getting back to this. The Turks gave up updated Patriots and the F-35 in order to get the S-400, which Russia is now chucking around in the surface to surface role, like modern day SCUDs.

Erdo thought they were more phallic than the Patriot, but in the event, they didn't have the stamina to "satisfy" SAMmies "needs".

Last night isn't really a demonstration of ABM capability. The Patriot's target(s) were moving directly towards it, which is the very easiest target solution to solve. A far better test will be when it has to intercept Khinzal's attacking random apartment blocks/"military high priority targets".

The scuds were not targeted at the patriots, in my field test, so they will take care of anything in range. Happy to film an advert…..

SCUD isn't really comparable to Khinzal though.
It's not, but the Kinzal's characteristics are an überbullsh1t. It reaches the hypersonic speed only during the middle phase of its trajectory. It HAS to brake during its terminal phase, as its accuracy would be unacceptable if it didn't and tried to hit its target at 6000km/h. That's the stage when it can be intercepted by the Patriot.

Not easy to find good info, but I suspect they are similar in the terminal phase, which is where patriot is working. Khinzal is faster mid flight, but becomes a ballistic missile on the target, similar to Scud. Makes you wonder why west sticks with basically subsonic cruise missiles - because they are a PITA to shoot down, and you can afford to fire 50-100 per night, most of which will get through......Ruskis went for the bling.....

10 in service, 1 destroyed and 3 severely damaged by artillery and 1 captured.

Scarcely committed, 50% terminated out of action 👏
