After seeing so many pictures and videos, I am amazed that Russians seem to put little or no effort into recovering their dead or damaged vehicles.
Basic Soviet doctrine. The previous wave got mauled? Shove the wounded to the side and send in the next wave. At least they've have a slightly higher chance of success because they can use the knocked out vehicles for cover. The soviets preferred to raise new units rather than reinforce existing ones that had been mauled. "Reinforce success, abandon failure".
Either Russian encryption got pwned, or there is a high level mole in the Kremlin. Or both.
The moment they entered Ukraine everyone from privates to generals were using stolen cell phones and civilian radios. They didn't bother with any other basic soldiering skill either. Do you actually think anyone used encrypted comms before that? ?

Many years ago, I read the excellent book by Stephen Ambrose, Citizen Soldiers. In it, Ambrose compared how the US recovered equipment vs the Soviet Union.

The US would essentially recover everything possible. Teams of mechanics would drive down the road and do follow on to abandoned vehicles behind the front lines. If they couldn't get it started in 10 minutes, they'd have it taken to a depot to be repaired and returned to service.

The Soviets on the other hand, would simply abandon anything with even a minor problem. He went on to describe how hundreds of Studebaker 2 1/2 ton trucks the US had given the USSR, were simply abandoned because the engine air filters were clogged with dust and dirt and no one knew enough to replace it.

...Anyway, are their any relatives of Nicholas II still kicking around, and do they want to raise an army, as now's the time.
