Archival footage of the test drop of the prototype of the X-38 Crew Return Vehicle (CRV), made according to the wingless aerodynamic configuration of the "load-bearing body" type and intended for emergency return to earth of the crews of the International Space Station (ISS).
It was planned to enter orbit in the cargo hold of a reusable space shuttle. Several flying dummies were created at a scale of 1: 1.

Work on the X-38 program was discontinued in 2002 due to budget cuts.
