6 Sqn RAF Phantom packing impressive punch. Having given up its Canberra's in early 1969 in Cyprus, new 6 Sqn formed at Coningsby in May 1969 with the Phantom FGR.2. It was to be a short, but for those involved, very enjoyable, period. disbanded in Sept1974 before becoming Jaguar Sqn

US Navy F-4s and A-7s on a LORAN strike over Vietnam. Short for "Long Range Navigation", LORAN technology used multiple ground-based transmitters to communicate with aircraft's onboard systems, allowing them to fix their position and coordinate attacks. The system was employed extensively during the Linebacker campaigns, and worked exceptionally well as a poor-weather and nighttime attack aid.
