I give up with em sometimes black cat . 5 million labour voters voted brexit in 2016 . If they loose those 5 million voters they ll never win a general election ever again though I think the Tony Blair wing of the party don't really care as long as they get what they want .
EMMANUEL Macron is lobbying fellow EU leaders to present Britain with a take-it-or-leave-it ultimatum over Theresa May’s deal at next week’s summit. The French President wants Brussels chiefs to is…
BRUSSELS’ budget chief has admitted the EU can’t legally force Britain to pay the £39billion divorce bill if there’s No Deal – and will try blackmailing the UK instead. German Eurocrat Gunthe…

As far as I am aware we only signed treaty's with the EU so nothing is legally binding . We can walk away whenever we want without consequence . I doubt they ll get the 39 billion anyway . After 10 years of cuts to police / healthcare / defence / education etc etc I doubt any uk political party is stupid enough to hand over free cash as it would more than likely be the death knell of their respective party .
i would say the EU is run by the French as the Germans always back down to the French ... i can see French being the dominant language in the EU after Brexit ... i'll nee to learn French again
The EU is/was a good idea on paper, it’s only when we started adding unnecessary poor countries like Eastern Europeans ones the thing started to crumble a bit, budget wise.
Nonetheless, The EU is by and large the largest economy in the world (implying we’d be just one country).

EU was a good idea (and worked) while it remained the ECC
Pushing a political and social agenda (while worth if it was done correctly) is what killed the project

That I can agree with, but in the collective mind, and the rabble; the wealthy western nations are the one paying the dole for the rest (and it’s true too). ECC being defunct or not.

Yep , you could argue that the EU started to struggle after the rapid expansion eastwards in the early 2000s . We were left with a lopsided union ; high wages in the west , low wages in the east . What then ? Either wages were going to rise in the east to meet Western parity , or wages were going to drop in the west and meet somewhere in the middle as wages grew eastwards . I'm sure you don't need me to tell you what happened . As a footnote the biggest supporters of eastwards expansion ? The UK .
Robin Cook, the Foreign Secretary, will indicate for the first time today a significant strengthening of British support for EU enlargement to the east, by calling for a target date for the end of negotiations with countries applying to join.
Interesting article and blast to the past bcf1001; Emmanuel Macron has picked up the slack and is now pushing for even further EU expansion to countries like the rest of the Balkans (beside Croatia already in) and possibly the Baltic. Nothing is done yet.

it was the UK who wanted Eastern European nations in the EU the plan was to weaken Germany and France's control over the EU .... my biggest issue with this is after welcoming in Eastern europeans into the EU more should be done to help there economies and there living standards the poverty levels in rural areas like Roumania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is quite shocking

History would certainly back up your claim ,the old divide and conquer strategy has often been used by the UK though in this case I think they just wanted the cheap labour and use it as a tool to control inflation and also for a small minority to create immense wealth . Funny how they went right ahead and just did it without any reasoned debate on what it meant economically for everyone though anyone who pushed against it would have simply been branded a racist .
He is somehow correct: larger market, low wage skilled manpower, industries and infrastructures to reboot
It benefits industry tycoons. Probably not average Joes
