While on paper keeping the investigation secret might sound like a good idea, in this environment it is a terrible idea, as was taking the passports. The Federal government has now lost all credibility with about 50% of the population. That 50% was the prime recruiting territory for the military and provides the middle/working class backbone for the US. At this point, the government's only method of persuasion for this group is coercion. Any outcome now will be viewed as fraud and 3rd world politics.

But "the military fully supports Biden", as Telmar once claimed.

But it does not really matter, because the whistle has been blown and the dogs are barking. It does not need much to have them barking, just throw and jingle a few "trigger words" and let idiocy do the rest.

Classified documents! Oh! That's scary!
Top secret documents! Oh! That's scary!
Documents about "nukes"! Oh! That's very scary!
Trump! Oh! orange Man bad! Everything Trump does is bad! Trump bad!

Classified documents? Ok, what is a "classified document"? What makes a document a "classified document"?
Top secret documents? Same questions.
What are the processes around these documents? Is it common for a former POTUS to have these?
What is the process around the declassification of documents?
Nukes? What are we talking about? Weapons? Civilian energy? Gadgets? Projects? Random, inconsequential, memos?

People can't answer these questions. They don't even ask these questions to begin with. And they don't care about the answers either.
All that matters is that "Trump" factor.
Trump is involved, therefore it is bad. Because Trump is bad. Everything Trump does is bad.
No need to look any further, or ask question, or anything.
Why? Because Trump.

They get their news and pre-digested from twitter, facebook, reddit, etc... from "checked" individuals who have no more actual insight on the subjects. And it is enough for them, because they found lots of people who "think" like them. Safety in number.

Unfortunately, these brainlets have 0 idea how the system works.

In short: Trump has the constitutional authority to declassify anything he wants.

I am wondering what "secrets" Trump may be in possession of that would still be relevant 18 months on...
when an administration changes, everything changes.
personally, I dont think Trump should run for President. There is too much garbage that the media can use to obfuscate reality. The lies that they do keep repeating, have certainly taken hold in quite a few peoples minds and this would have negative effect on a presidential run... Too much baggage, it doesnt matter if we here in our little echo chamber know that most of it is completely made up or at best unsubstantiated. To win, you need to attract people from both sides.
Trump can be "helpful" sitting on the sidelines, or running for a state office... Imagine the lulz if he was a congressman or a senator...
As far as the military "supporting biden".... the military supports whoever is the sitting president, regardless, as long as they stay within their constitutional bounds.
I live in a state that probably has the highest percentage of active duty military and reserves of any state in the Union, and I have plenty of friends and associates both active and 'former', and I sure dont get any sense whatsoever that they support biden for any other reason than duty....

Trump running again would only alienate his haters more.

It has been two years since he left the White House but he still lives rent free in their heads. But, to some extent, they should maybe thank him; thanks to him they are giving the opportunity to remain relevant.

Some made their political career about going after Trump.
Some in the entertainment industry did the same.

Not as simple as that, considering that there is actually a system in place on how to declassify information that was signed as late as Pres. Obama with regards to classifications and declassification.... EO 13292. Its a long read and shows how infor is declassified.
The interesting part however is this:
Sec. 6.2. General Provisions.

(a) Nothing in this order shall supersede any requirement made by or under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, or the National Security Act of 1947, as amended. “Restricted Data” and “Formerly Restricted Data” shall be handled, protected, classified, downgraded, and declassified in conformity with the provisions of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and regulations issued under that Act.

Now on to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, where the Executive and Legislative bodies of the put the Authorization on information classification squarely on one body... The Atomic Energy Commission

Sec. 142. Classification and Declassification of Restricted Data
a. The Commission shall from time to time determine the data, within
the definition of Restricted Data, which can be published without undue
risk to the common defense and security and shall thereupon cause such
data to be declassified and removed from the category of Restricted Data.

b. The Commission shall maintain a continuous review of Restricted
Data and of any Classification guides issued for the guidance of those in
the atomic energy program with respect to the areas of Restricted Data
which have been declassified in order to determine which information
may be declassified and removed from the category of Restricted Data
without undue risk to the common defense and security.

c. In the case of Restricted Data which the Commission and the
Department of Defense jointly determine to relate primarily to the
military utilization of atomic weapons, the determination that such data
may be published without constituting an unreasonable risk to the

No so a President of the United States of America can't just go declassify their Nuclear tech at a whim.

Again, this doesnt mean the FBI was lying or not. Just fixing the premise that the American President is a tinpot dictator

And the DOJ doesn’t want to release the affidavit in support of the warrant because they now need to “find” a crime for indictment that wasn’t in any way detailed in the affidavit for the warrant.

It maybe that or maybe they are still building up/making up a case. Give the DOJ a chance, keep asking for the justification but hold off on the bugaloo just yet.

Probably re-written it about 30 times since it was issued - that's why they don't want to release it

The Regime is now telling Americans who they can choose to vote for. Trump will eventually get indicted on "something". The corrupt DoJ is going down that road. This is Banana Republic stuff. This is what Tinhorn dictators do in the Third World. Yet, we are witnessing it right here.

The Regime is literally petrified of Trump. They know if he announces to run, he will win - even if they cheat. They know that if he wins in 2024, he won't be just a naive real estate billionaire in the White House, that now he knows the score and will select people that WILL go after the corrupt Administrative State. They know that.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a struggle between good and evil. And If not Trump, then who? If not Trump, the Regime will do the same to whoever wants to support the American people. It needs to be Trump.

Regarding the military, there is now a crisis of recruitment. I guess pushing a woke military turns off the people who would want to join. Who woulda thunk it?

Also, the affidavit would have to state that Trump was in full cooperation with the DoJ. If it stated that, no one would have approved of the "raid". I'm sure that it wasn't stated, thereby the FBI and DoJ violated the law - again.

Remember when this was happening under Trump?

Oh wait... it didn't.

Frankly, for a crowd that was hilarious when a mobs chanted "lock her up" this sudden desire for rule of law above rule of mob is interesting.

In any case Trump broke the law by not providing the docs to the National Archives. There was suspicion of a crime and the search proved that the suspicions were founded.

Is it more serious than that? We do not know.
