Despite ist teething problems the NH90 is a nice machine. (Y)

The FDF is still capable of defending ist soil in my view. And there is a very high chance of international support in case of...just look at the Baltic sates.

But I also think it is very very improbabale of this unnamed enemy to act belligerent. My 2ct.

I do not know, judging by the equipment in this photo are also Poles (or someone else using Polish equipment - like Wisport rucksack). If Poles - the most likely is JWK (Military Commando Unit)

Yes, US only has observers in this exercise.

"International cooperation partners from Sweden, Norway, Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and the UK participate to the exercise"

Conscripts helping the police at a border crossing of Finnish capital region (Uusimaa), which was closed last night due to corona virus

I watched interview from one of the checkpoints. Those guys will live in tents next to the check points, while police get to go to their cozy homes...

FDF again made changes to conscript service due to coronavirus. They will now stay in training for four weeks (half in barracks, half in forest doing drills isolated, from each other), followed by two weeks on leave.

That's really interesting. How many of those guns are still operational in Finland?

It should be tampella 130 53-TK based on 130mm M46 gun with laser rangefinder and modern fire control system. There are also 100 56-TK based on 100mm T-55 turret with the similar systems and one M1917 350mm double barrel coastal artillery turret on the Kuivasaari Island which was actually built by Russian and modernised by the Finnish several times as the main line of defence of the Helsinki till late 1970s. According to the open sources I found total amount of 110 coastal artillery pieces on that island are still in operational condution but only the 130 53-TK guns are still in active service. And 350mm M1917 is still being used to fire shots during the national independence day. Maybe our Finnish members would tell us more...

This type of gun 130TK, which is the only coastal gun still in use, was produced between 1984-1990 are supposed to be phased out in 20's.

If I am to believe internet sources, there were some eight batteries, which is 30(-+5) guns. They have been phasing out all gun systems in last two decades, when in the beginning of that there were around 400 guns (again, same source, pinch of salt).

Coastal artillery was at some point third largest service, with over 200 "fortress islands" and other locations in the coastline.

Speaking of Coastal artillery, here is that 305mm gun in action:

And that 130TK starting at 0:36 (the gun has an autoloader, but they are training how to use the gun manually)
