I've always been impressed by the apparent professionalism and equipment of the Kenyans (all things considered). Would it be safe to say that in terms of this and combat experience, they rank right behind the Egyptians and South Africans as far as African armies are concerned?

Hey!It's great that the Indian Navy is fostering partnerships in the Indian Ocean. The visit of INS Sumedha to Lamu and joint exercises with the Kenyan Navy are an awesome initiative. Such cooperation will surely enhance security in Kenyan coastal waters.I wonder what other activities our navies are planning in this region. Fingers crossed for continued fruitful collaboration! :)

Generally I would say that Kenya is one of the promising countries on the continent. They have an organized state and seem to be pragmatic and have a sense of order.

Their political landscape is stable and they have one of the most beautiful places on earth for tourism.

I guess this translates into their armed forces too.

They had historic formations like the Kings African Rifles whichs expanded officers corps formed the base of the Kenyan army.
