Polish Border Guard officers participate in the Frontex operation in Finland. Due to the season and weather conditions, they patrol the Finnish-Russian border primarily on snowmobiles and on skis.

Anyone catch word on what were the results of the evaluation of the Ślązak to determine whether it could accept missile armament?

Perhaps it is still ongoing?
After launching the "Miecznik" program, I am afraid that the program of arming the "Ślązak" has slowed down significantly.

Unfortunately, in the last year (or even more than a year, but the war in Ukraine made it very clear), there was no coherent and rational plan for technical modernization, but there was a lot of money spent on programs that were supposed to create the appearance of strength. Which means that maintaining this mosaic of equipment will generate additional expenses.

I hope as soon as possible.

By the way, I wonder how the pre-production tests in 16 Division turned out. Individual IFVs differed in equipment details (e.g. tracks), I wonder what the final configuration will be.

Yes, details are as rare as hen's teeth and time is of the essence to move forward. If I remember correctly the time frame for low rate series production was at the turn of the years 2024-2025, however, it would be nice to see some type of clarification.

I suspect that at the beginning the order for the ZSSW-30 turrets will be fulfilled slowly, unfortunately, electronics production plants do not have the capacity to handle so many orders at one time, and the pace of deliveries of Mk-44S automatic cannons, which are not produced in Poland, may also be a problem.

Currently, the 1st "Warszawska" Armoured Brigade includes one fully rearmed company of M1A1FEP Abrams tanks, numbering 14 tanks, consisting of three platoons of 4 tanks each, as well as 2 tanks: the company commander and his deputy. Three M88A2 HERCULES (Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lifting Extraction System) technical support vehicles serve as support. These are vehicles from the first batch delivered to Poland on June 26, 2023. Another 26 tanks, along with the M88A2 HERCULES, are currently undergoing deprocessing, i.e. de-preservation and zero-level inspection in the newly established Competence Center at the Military Automotive Works (WZM) in Poznań. The first cars arrived there on December 11, 2023.In total, 40 M1A1FEP tanks have been delivered to Poland at the moment, out of a total of 116 ordered almost exactly a year ago (January 4, 2023). The remaining 76 tanks, in accordance with the schedule included in the contract, are to be delivered to Poland in batches this year .The used M1A1FEP tanks will be complemented by brand new vehicles in the latest M1A2SEPv3 (System Enhanced Package version 3) standard, 250 of which should be delivered to Poland from the beginning of 2025 (there have been signals about the possibility of accelerating deliveries by the end of 2024), which will end in 2026. Both the M1A1FEP and M1A2SEPv3 will be equipped with the Danish SitaWare Frontline software package of the C4ISR class, and by 2027, an AGTS (Advanced Gunnery Training System) training center will be established in the 1st "Warszawska" Armoured Brigade in Wesoła near Warsaw.
