British firm Babcock has won the Polish frigate competition. Poland has chosen the Type 31 Frigate design, known as 'Arrowhead 140', for their future frigate class. Babcock will support the PGZ-MIECZNIK Consortium for the three AH140 frigates to be built in Polish shipyards by a local workforce, drawing significantly from Polish suppliers and Babcock's global supply chain. On March 15, Minister Mariusz Błaszczak announced that this year the Armaments Agency would order another three Kormoran II minehunter for the needs of the Navy. The above decision, unofficially, had been expected for several months.

Currently, the prototype ORP Kormoran (601) is in the Polish Navy, and the serial Albatros (602) and Mewa (603) are at different stages of the tests. They are all built by a consortium consisting of: Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. shipyard, Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowe Centrum Techniki Morskiej S.A. and Stocznia Marynarki Wojennej S.A (currently PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Sp.z o.o.).

The first three will be added to the 13th Minesweeper Squadron stationed in Gdynia. The allocation of the next three is unknown, but it cannot be ruled out that they will go to the west coast, to Świnoujście - to the 12th Wolin Minesweeper Squadron, which currently operates the 207P project units. The continuation of the Kormoran II mine destroyer construction program for the Navy will enable the even distribution of mine defense forces between the eastern and western coast of Poland, and will also lead to standardization of the equipment of both squadrons.
