IAF fighter jets struck Houthi terror targets, along Yemen’s coastline, in response to the repeated attacks by the Houthis against Israel, during which surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs were launched toward Israeli civilians.

The terrorist infrastructure sites struck in the Hudaydah Port serve as a central supply source for the Houthis, and is used for the transfer of Iranian weapons. The Houthi terrorist regime has been operating under Iranian direction and funding, in order to target Israel and its allies, undermine regional stability and disrupt global freedom of navigation.

The IDF is determined to continue operating, at any distance, against all threats posed to the State of Israel.

An IDF M109 howitzer of the 282nd Artillery Regiment is seen firing into the southern Gaza Strip, in a handout photo published by the military on April 19, 2025. (Israel Defense Forces)

Interesting, look at the angle they're firing at. Must be point blank into some stronghold.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. Its not common to see the commander or crew up top on an SPG whilst firing, which supports that he's spotting for direct fire.

Sure, thats interesting. But i still dont know whats that thing in the barrel :)

I cannot find any other examples however it could simply be a makeshift bung to keep the barrel clean, like the picture below
