SAN DIEGO (March 1, 2019) Operations Specialist 2nd Class Emily Lindelow, from Covington, La., assigned to the San Antonio-class Amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) greets her boyfriend during a traditional ‘First Kiss’ on the pier at Naval Base San Diego. USS Anchorage (LPD 23), of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, returned to its homeport of San Diego following a successful deployment to the U.S. 5th, 6th and 7th Fleet areas of operation. POLARIS POINT, Guam (Jan. 23, 2018) Yeoman 2nd Class Tara Spencer mans the rails as the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) returns to Apra Harbor. Frank Cable departed Guam March 7, 2017, supporting maritime expeditionary operations in the 3rd Fleet area of operations and underwent a dry-dock phased maintenance availability at Vigor Industrial ship yard in Portland, Ore. Frank Cable, forward-deployed to Guam, repairs, rearms and reprovisions deployed U.S. Naval Forces in the Indo-Pacific region. YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 26, 2016) Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class (SW/AW) Donisha Brown, from Philadelphia, reunites with her daughter during USS Ronald Reagan’s (CVN 76) homecoming to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group conducted 53 days of strike group operations in the western Pacific, including the waters south of Japan, the Philippine Sea and the South China Sea, to improve combat readiness, develop cohesion as a strike group and engage its partners in the region. Ronald Reagan is the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier and it provides a combat-ready force to protect and defend the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
