Somehow, the fact Black Mirror got most of its episodes talking place in England somehow makes a lot more sense.

Absolutely. I mean, look, I get it, public proselytising can be annoying. But even if we assume that that woman abused her authority just to shut someone up (instead of protecting liberal sensitivities), it'd be a scandal still.

I'd go to court over this, but I can imagine the outcome.

The British legal system makes it fascinatingly difficult to find redress for violations of civic and human rights. Excuse the segue, but that's one aspect of Brexit that's always been so baffling to me: When it came to cases of free speech, freedom of faith and parental rights, the European Court of Justice did a much better job protecting the rights of British citizens than their own courts.

Rather interesting and amusing how these calls for "protection" come from more or less the same class of people.

Protect your nanny, protect your maid, your cleaning lady, your gardener, etc... basically your servants.

Though, yes, it also impacted republicans and conservatives employing illegals with or without their knowledge; since the amount of illegals is "so high" in the US you are basically doomed to get one employed if you are hiring non/low qualified personnel.

The thing is, the plea made people like that LA Times person is made with full knowledge of the fact the people in question are illegal.

As some Democrat celebrity, or was it a politician, said prior to Trump being reelected:
"If you deport illegals, who will pick up your crops? Who will clean your bathroom?"
