The Walmart near me (approx 15 miles) has long lines for self checkout and staff would routinely stop your scan via hand held device. Only a couple staff members so only a few lines open. It was retarded. I subscribe to delivery for the past couple years. Don't miss going in the store, it serves a large part of the county and is always packed.

I've largely given up on wal-mart. Their prices aren't that great anymore - possibly because of their losses to shoplifting gangs in Calif. On the few times I want a specific item, I go right when they open @ 0600. Grab what I need and GTFO. I think it's been almost 2 months since I've bought anything there. Both daughters call in orders which works well for them. Not me, though.
