Indian Army received first batch 10,000 SIG716G2 ( 7.62×51 mm ) Rifles from SIG SAUER.
Total 72,400 ordered.
66,400 for Indian Army, 4000 for Indian Air Force & 2000 for Indian Navy.
It's DMR variant ( In Pic ) is already in service with the Federal CT Unit National Security Guards ( NSG ).

SIG716G2 will replace INSAS rifles of Indian Forces while first batch of 40,000 AK-203 is also on the way. Expected to come at December end or January.
