Leopard 2A7V tanks are equipped with a new modernized 120-mm smoothbore gun L55A1 with increased power, climate control system, 17-kilowatt auxiliary diesel generator Steyr M12, Thales SOTAS intercommunication system, IFIS combat information control system, improved commander and gunner sights using thermal imagers Airbus ATTICA; Saab Barracuda multispectral camouflage system; enhanced mine protection, programming system MKM (Munitionskommunizierungsmodul) for firing high-explosive programmed rounds DM11.
