Royal Marine Commandos from 539 Raiding Squadron, 47 Commando Raiding Group Royal Marines working alongside Australian 1 Brigade Force Recon on Ex PREDATORS RUN. The allies used the RM’s Commando Raiding Craft (CRC) and Australian Inflatable Craft to practice troop insertion and extraction under fire techniques.

The Pilbara Regiment have been putting the Ground Uncrewed System, or GUS, through its paces, testing how it could be used for surveillance in the Top End. The Australian-developed robot can detect movement, transmit to a remote operator, and undertake surveillance for weeks at a time.

Australian Army joined forces with soldiers from Indonesia, U.S. Army, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and British Army for Exercise Super Garuda Shield to conduct a Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise.
The exercise consisted of coordinated fires from an array of weapon systems, including the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, 81mm mortars, and howitzers, right through to Indonesian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons.
Exercise Super Garuda Shield is an annual activity which builds military interoperability between the Australian Army and its close partners.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Australian daily The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the federal government of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in talks with the administration of US President Joe Biden regarding the possible transfer of the planned to withdraw M1A1SA tanks to the fighting Ukraine. A total of 59 M1A1SA tanks may be transferred.
