Erica Esterly, a West Point cadet who swam around Manhattan Island.Well, Erica didn't rest on her laurels, yesterday she became the 16th person in history to do the "double loop", swimming around the island twice without stopping (i.e. resting by clinging to the kayak that escorted her and stopped every now and then). This makes her the youngest person to complete this distance, the fastest woman and the fourth fastest overall. the 40-bridge distance is 57 miles (or 91.7 km), which she completed in 19 hours 49 minutes.
