The USA is the most powerful Nation in the world. If they have a trick or 2 up their sleeve now would be a good time to pull it out......I guess I still have some faith left.

Yup, that's what we are up against.

I used to believe there was nothing worse than France administration and bureaucracy, until we had to hit the US State Department.
All your questions will be answered by this pic of the US Embassy in Seoul. I'm surprised they still authorize the American flag.

My personal beliefs & where I'm coming from: I believe in equal rights, respect & acceptance for all people. I have gay, transgendered on my crew & have an adopted son [found on a trash heap] from Congo....but....those flags have no place of honor flying with any Nation's Flag. You can not jam minority beliefs down people's throats, it only makes them hate more what they're already against....& hating a group of people is fine but keep it to yourself.

why am I not surprised, anybody believing the New Taliban will be any different from the old Taliban are a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

There is no doubt in anyone's mind of any Gov't in the world as to who is in charge in Afghanistan. The taliban has pushed every boundary the world has set for them to govern & now they are large & in charge & they know it. Lately for those of us still bringing in humanitarian aid as a military & still getting a few folks evacuated all be it to slowly a heads up that the children have been given early Christmas presents of guns, some real some toys with the orange plug removed. Makes life sorta difficult for those of us that need to travel around their cities Christmas shopping. Lord help us.

After clashes between Iranian border guards and the Taliban near the Kong region of Nimroz province, the Iranian side used heavy weapons and numerous units of the Iranian armed forces approached the Afghan border.

^^
The Taliban captured and set fire to several Iranian border posts on the border.

If everything is true, we are witnessing the opening of an exercise at the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Air Force's Mazar-i-Sharif airport. At least two Mi-17s were flying, and four MD-530Fs and three A-29 Super Tucanoes were on the concrete. Question, in airworthy condition, with creew?

And if things continue to heat up at the border, the Islamic Republic of Iran might soon see to it that these aircraft are in fact not airworthy any more.

Most of the western-supplied airplanes\helicopers were not in airworth condition even in the better times. Sure these things will be grounded very soon if these are not in the time. Mi-17 however has a chance to play their usual workhorse role in the future, as more simple and reliable heli and they are very common in every of neigbourhood countries.
