Well, China needs the lithium and other rare earth minerals to make hundreds of billions selling EV car batteries. One of the reasons the communists temporarily controlling the US government are trying to pass at least 5 trillion, (yes trillion with T ) dollars in spending on a “New Green Deal” being disguised as infrastructure spending. Guess who will supply all the EV stuff in those spending bills?

A week after the taliban took over the gov't, food seems plentiful but more expensive, gas is hard to find & price has doubled, banks are closed with empty vaults, ATMs out of cash, water & electricity is getting spotty, some gov't workers & utility workers have returned to work but unsure how they are going to get paid if they get paid......& the locals just want Peace. Hearing the taliban have no money to keep things running or meet a payroll [Ghani left with all the cash]. Will see what September holds. People need a central Gov't to keep things running orderly as Afghanistan heads back to the stone age agricultural economy. Things are going to get uncomfortable for quite awhile.

The Americans are trying to set up a secondary outer perimeter around KBL, older people & children were getting trampled to death in the crowd push & trying to allow people with legal documentation to enter. They're firing into the air & not at people & spraying water onto the crowd to cool them down. We're all coming up with simple solutions to problems as they come up but for the life of me I'm not sure if we can really do this any better at this facility that isn't set up for this. Have been told to be ready to leave asap if we hear 5 blasts on the big voice. You have to look ahead to what you would be willing to do if the worst imaginable happens. The guys on the perimeter have it a lot worse. Say a few prayers for them & their safety.

According to other information Panjshir fighters recaptured three more districts from the Taliban, many Taliban members have been killed and some captured.
The captured Taliban fighters don't look very concerned though.
