Hate to play the devil's advocate here, but how can you ban halal meat without also banning kosher meat? Seems a bit extreme to me. Here in Germany, they struck a compromise where butcher shops can acquire a permit to produce halal (and kosher) meat if they ensure the animal is anaesthetised first. Seems reasonable to me. @Ivan le Fou, isn't it handled similarly in France?

I haven't followed much on this, to be honest.
I do remember it created quite the sh*tstorm back when it was a hot topic of debate, to finally go back to being a non-issue.
But it was mostly Hallal food, strangely enough the Jewish community didn't go full ape mode about kosher food. And even the Jewish kids I went to school fish were fairly "unconcerned" about the whole thing, as opposed to their Muslim counterparts who constantly reminded everybody about it. But perhaps they were just bad mannered, who knows.
Anyway, food wise there are regulations to process meat and edible products, so obtaining a permit is likely a thing to "produce" Hallal/Kosher food. But again, never heard of any issue regarding Kosher food. Go figure.
As for the UK banning Hallal food? Heh! Considering the amount of Muslim people there, it very likely will never happen. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if the authorities came up with some creative ideas to ban pork and pork-based products in order to be more inclusive and such. Greenies would likely support the initiative as well for obvious reasons.
Banning beer on the other hand... more difficult. And though Haram, Muslims do happily partake.

This is how it is done here,
"In premises that perform halal slaughter in New Zealand, non-lethal electrical stunning is used to render animal’s unconscious instantaneously and ensure they remain unconscious at the time of slaughter, thus complying with both animal welfare and halal requirements."
Theres also a couple of different certifying organizations as well as MPI, to make sure the facilities are upto a certain standard.

I thought they strangled them, is why they bought in the electrocution method as a weirdo compromise. Why else would they do that.

The rewriting of History for "modern audience" is a problem.
Strangely enough, though not "that" strange, it tends to come from countries that very much in line with the entire woke-liberal BS. And it, for some reason, always swings the same way: X individual, Y group of people, etc... were black.
If *main character* was a white man: switched into a black woman, or the man will be gay and stuck in a wheelchair.
If *main character* was a white woman: make her a black woman, and also gay.
Don't get me wrong, I am not against creative and artistic freedom here and there, as long as it is done right.
Denzel Washington made a great Macbeth, for instance. And though there may be other instances, that's the only one coming to mind at the moment...
But when it comes to Historical characters, people who actually existed... sorry but no. And the BBC, Netflix & cie have quite the past with that kind of thing:
Queen Charlotte isn't black.
King Edward VI isn't a gay, black man stuck in a wheelchair.
Alienor d'Aquitaine isn't black.
Anne Boleyn isn't black.
Newton isn't from the Caribbean.
