No the Chinese and Russians are not getting closer together. a lot of you should really stop living in a black or white worldwide scenario. China is only out for China's interest. The only reason why it wants to prolong this war if ever, is to make Russia dig a deeper pit for itself to get stuck on. They will make Russia its slave state if they can.

And if this war also weakens the Western position, the better it is for China as what they are after is the top spot in the planet. Not the spread of communism but the power of China. It wants to be the US more than anything else.

Far from black and white, there are many shades of gray. If US/EU leadership were a bit smarter, they'd be pitting Russia against Xi, instead they've driven Russia into the CCPs arms. Putin is an enemy. But the CCP is the principal enemy.
