Saudi Arabia leadership has instructed its special services to make contact with the Taliban. One of the main motives for this decision is the desire to prevent the growth of Iran's influence in Afghanistan. To achieve this task, the Saudi special services are counting on Pakistan's assistance of the Interdepartmental Intelligence.

The key figure in establishing a dialogue with the Taliban will be the former head of the Saudi General Intelligence Service, Turki Al Faisal, since in the 2000s. he has already dealt with the Taliban. This year he has already met with the Taliban strategist Mullah Mohammed Yakub, the son of one of the founders of the Taliban, Mullah Omar. There is also information that the Turks visited Doha, where he met with Mullah Baradar even before his return to his homeland.

The airstrike on 29AUG was to target a suicide car bomb within a mile of detonating @ the airport gate. A large enuf car bomb slated to kill hundreds of soldiers & Marines & 1,000's of Afghan civilians waiting outside KBL's North gate including American, British, German & Italian civilians waiting to get inside to return to their host Countries. Due to the size of the car bomb the explosion was larger than expected. It's still being investigated. CENTCOM statement follows:

Yeah, watching it now on the tele, all rockets intercepted this time........I KNEW this was going to happen, the rain of rockets, especially at the end when all civvy flights were concluded and they were loading up troops who weren't on the gates anymore and the equipment is being loaded there will be a period of "run for the planes lads" and that's when the real salvos will come, along with the chaps with the RPG-7's and PKM's.....and that's not even the period of time it will take to "shut doors, start up, taxi, and roll-out" loaded with the last troops, and all in time for a $30 Katusha rocket to find just one of those bloody planes and then that's it........an even bigger mess!! God I hope not....... ?

(And I truly don't think that they have ANY large force moved forward staged for a massive rescue of that type, palletized gear for para drops, ammo, etc to do a massive assault of the airfield or anything like that, and there's NO ocean or sea close by for the USN to assist. They really believe that these Taliban creeps will keep their word I think. Those lost will just be lost and I don't think they'd do a damn thing at that point.....a few drones and some AC-130 Spector gunships is about all they would put up with Biden and his bunch running that govt......and again I hope this DOES NOT happen--at all.)

There won't be a need for "run for the planes lads". There has been a loadout for the last few days. The US has enuf C-130 Spookies, Apaches & we have Elbit laser defense to catch multiple rockets while the Apaches keep the crowd at the perimeter. The manifests are probably around 5-600 good guys left & that's semi doable if we're not hassled at checkpoints & the transport modes hold up. Zero hour will need some diversion in darkness to leave some automatic or remote functioning things scattered around to look occupied while the whole city goes dark lights out.......what's happening? CG Donahu is still taking suggestions. What say smart folks? A thunderstorm would be cool.
