10 yr-old Nikolai Pankov, was a Russian child whose parents were killed on the Eastern Front. He ended up being adopted by another Russian who was captured and then went over to the side of the Germans, taking Nikolai with him. The two ended up serving in the 3rd Coy, 990 Grenadier Regt in Normandy where they were captured by US troops in Aug 44.
They were repatriated to the USSR where their fate as "collaborators" is unknown
