The lady in lead of the formation appears to be Slavic (Russian) not the typical Georgian ethnicity?
*Not that every former Soviet Republic is 100% the same ethnicity. Just curious.
Well haze99, meet the Kartvelian.
That's what a typical Georgian is. Embracing looks and attributes from all over, while excuding their distinctive personality and presence.
The multi-culti aspect in us Georgians has very deep roots. Science seems to suggest, that at least 30% of us share common genes with Meditterianians, particularily Southern and North-Eastern, but also 20% with Scandinavian and Western Europeans. On the other hand, we inherit at least 35% of the very ancient Anatolian/Caucasian gene, which is also spread throughout Europe, though, to a much lesser degree. They are most frequently found in Georgia because of the close proximity.
I guess tens of thousands of years of voluntary and forced culture mixing with some peaceful and a lot of intrusive peoples, like [insert whoever came before], Scythians, Parthians, Greeks, Italians, Swedes, French, Turks, Mongols, Russians and Germans, to pick the ones off the top of my head, would have contributed to that. There are also hundreds of thousands of ppl with Kartvelian roots, particularily in Turkey, Iran and Russia, on top of possibly as many, maybe even several million with distant Georgian ancestry.
I am consistently thought to be pure blooded German for example ( whatever that even means ), despite not having any "Germanic" ancestry to my knowledge. But apparently I look more unironicaly biodeutsch than the natives here, or what ppl think the typical German male is supposed to look like.
Not even sure how to feel about that rn, with current events ( JK ? I'm a proud German citizen ).
