Movie / TV What's the last movie you watched

I was expecting more from this movie. You need to put up with Spike Lee's prodigious hatred for whoever it is that he hates for much of this movie and that grows tiresome. He even interjects his hatred for Trump in it. Halfway through the 2.5 hour movie, I started to lose interest, but felt I had too much invested to stop watching. The cast was great and could have made this a much better movie with a different director.

Felt like Triple Frontier but with a lot a racial themes.

Knives Out. My better half wanted to watch it and it turned out to be rather enjoyable "who murdered the patriarch in the big family house" fare. She also said that Daniel Craig's character needed a shave! ;-)

Entebbe (2018)

Just checked on wiki and the captain of that Air France flight who (with all the crew) refused to leave in order to stay with the Israelis died only last year.

Joined the Free French forces at 17, learned to fly in Texas in Corpus Christi.

OK guys, I have no luck with Netflix movies recently. Watched The King another dud. The scope of the subject matter covered in the movie is so broad that it would have been more suited to the limited series. It jumps from scene to scene from one event to another so rapidly that I had to rewind to check whether I fell asleep and missed something. Nope, it's just the pace and editing. Also, what did the French ever do to Robert Pattinson? His portrayal and commitment to the role of Dauphin was abysmal. Cannot recommend the movie. Definite thumbs down.

Good choice. If you have any chance whatsoever, always make sure you watch Scott's director's cuts. Especially in this case, the movie vastly differs from the theatric release.

I loved it. Historically inaccurate like few other, but I view it as a declaration of love to the Middle Ages contrasting pleasantly with the prevailing Hollywood stereotype that medieval people were all dirty and stinking illiterate hicks clad in brown.

Thanks for the review. Interesting. Myself, I liked it. I agree that the pacing is too rash, a lot of material was probably left on the cutting room floor.

As for the portrayal of the Dauphin though, I think what they were trying to portray is Louis' (historically accurate) volatile character that was probably owed to his father's madness. The real Charles didn't allow his children anywhere near him. He believed his body was made of glass and feared if anyone were to touch him, he'd shatter into pieces. That's gotta mess with your head.
