I'd take those scores with a pinch of salt, mate, and rather refer to elaborate reviews showing the user at least put some thought into their comments. Most 10/10's and 01/10's stem from people who clearly didn't bother watching the movie, like those fake reviews on Amazon trying to sell you shyte. In line with this they're usually short and ambiguous. It's getting 6.5/10 on IMDB, are you blokes being overly harsh?
It's all politics now, and both proponents and opponents of the respective message gang together to influence the score. Moreover, the IMDB and especially RottenTomatoes have been known to falsify the scores of highly politicised movies.
There's a huge subreddit that calls on users to be "allies" and upvote the movie on the aforesaid platforms – that's why I don't buy the 6.5.
Which isn't to say only one side of the aisle is guilty of that kind of behaviour. Far from it.
A while ago the American right shot down 'The Hunt' by way of spamming negative reviews based on a mere misunderstanding. Fox had told them the movie was about liberals hunting down Trump voters for sport, while in actuality it was a bipartisan satire. But the campaign was enough to cause the distributor to panick, and the movie was pulled from its original release plan.
