Warfare HAMAS attack on Israel, Oct 2023 & Iran’s Proxies.

Iran didn't shoot down any F35.

Nor did it shoot down any F16.

Or anything at all, in fact.

So far they only thing Iran has been circulating is:
-repurposed shots of the downed Russian Su24 over Turkey back in 2015.
-AI slop that does not remotely looks like anything.

The desperation is pathetic.

considering we and they have been on this route for 20 years, its a bit disappointing that they didnt come up with Zeppelin AA units, or giant kevlar nets, or something else. They basically dug holes and planned to be able to drive out and launch missiles.....I guess they dont do brainstorming.

IDF Kills Head of Armed Forces Intelligence and Commander of IRGC Surface-to-Surface Missiles*

*More than 20 Iranian Regime Military Commanders Killed*

It can now be confirmed that in the opening strike of Operation "Am Kalavi," the head of the intelligence department of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff and the commander of the surface-to-surface missile system of the IRGC Air Force were killed. *The Air Force and Intelligence Department killed more than 20 Iranian Regime Military Commanders*.

The head of the Armed Forces Intelligence Department, Gholam-Raja Merhabi, was responsible for assessing the Iranian regime's intelligence situation and was considered the most senior intelligence officer in Iran. Merhabi took part in situation assessments, intelligence preparations, and the management of attacks against Israel in the past year and before. Merhabi was also a significant and highly respected senior figure within the Iranian regime and close to the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, who was also eliminated.

The commander of the ballistic missile division in the Revolutionary Guards' Air Force, Mohammad Baqeri, was responsible for most of Iran's surface-to-surface and long-range cruise missile capabilities, which pose a major threat to the State of Israel. Baqeri was responsible for managing the firepower and took an active part in the military decision-making process in the Iranian attacks on Israel in April and October 2024. Baqeri was eliminated along with the commander of the Revolutionary Guards' Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and several other senior figures in an underground headquarters in Tehran.

The only meaningful thing they might have done well probably was building some of their missile infrastructures inside a mountain.

However, the idea should have been expanded to other things, such as vulnerable power infrastructures, and also deepened. As in digging things deeper underground and such.

For instance, this is back when the Soviets pursued hardening for their nuclear program. They had decided to go with a high degree of overburden (~200m of granite) and used reinforced concrete liners. Obviously that remained on paper, but the idea was there.

Iran "could have done that" for some of their sites.
Though it is hard, time consuming, possibly complicated and such.

The Air Force Attacked Missile Launchers Ready to Launch at the Israeli Home Front in Western Iran

Fighter jets and aircraft of the Air Force have so far attacked dozens of missiles aimed at the Israeli home front in Iran before they were launched.

Air Force aircraft flying in Iranian skies identified missile launchers and, in a quick closing loop, attacked them and thwarted future launches at the Israeli home front

Probably way too expensive and not every mountain range is the same, kinds of stone, fault lines, underground water levels etc.

At that point it's choosing between having protected sites, AD, ballistic missiles and a nuclear program with only two or three out of four financially possible without China financing it. Which given China's statements on Iran and supplies of weapons components wouldn't surprise me.

Additionally another problem that we're now seeing is that an adversary only has to gain air supremacy over a limited part of the country to attack the strategic deterrence due to the limitations in geography (western Iran having the mountain range suitable for construction).

What a shame dear little Greta didn't attend. Her firm leadership would have reinforced their resolve to protest even though they were getting their asses kicked severely.
