Over 100 years have passed since the Red Army invasion and sovietisation of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia. On this occasion, the body of General Giorgi Kvinitadze , who lead the country's defence in 1920 and 1921, was returned from France to be interred in his homeland during the Independence Day celebration.

Naval Special Forces Company turns 15.

The Navy Special Forces Company has turned 15 years old. On June 1, 2006, a naval special forces detachment was formed as part of the then Special Forces Brigade. With the addition of the naval component, the Special Forces Brigade acquired additional capabilities and expanded its area of operations. Today, the naval Special Forces Company is one of the elite units in the Special Operations Forces, capable of carrying out the same tasks as special operations warriors on land in addition to naval special operations.
