I didn't find such thread, so I'm starting this one.

St. John's Chapel, New York

Constructed in 1803 next to St. John's Park. In 1867 the park was sold to the Hudson River Railroad for a downtown freight terminal and soon cargo docks and warehouses were build in the area. Because of this the wealthy residents start migrating elsewhere and by the end of XIX century the congregation was gone. The Chapel itself was demolish in 1918.
