For the very first time, Čáslav Airbase fighters tried refueling from a multi-purpose aircraft from the MMF (Multinational MRTT Fleet) program, whose fleet is based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The training of other Czech pilots with this multi-purpose machine will follow after the successful test.The Czech Republic has been part of the IMF since 2019. The project of six EU states aims to build a multinational multi-purpose squadron with eight Airbus A-330 MRTT machines, which would supplement the missing capacities and evacuate the wounded if necessary.
In the past, Čáslav pilots practiced the in-flight refueling maneuver with, for example, the German A-400M, the Italian KC-767, the Swedish C-130 Herkules or the American KC-135 Stratotanker.
