Bravo Zulu,

The photo above and then the one two above it show use of the infamous 4 tube nvgs. Do you know if use of them has spread beyond Devgru? I had been under the assumption that they were the only users, but my info is probably several years old.

I think it's widespread now. Even Ukrainian special forces got them and... had to write reports on their performance.

The other JSOC elements like ACE (Delta Force) and USAF 24th STS are also using GPNVG-18s. For the Delta Force they were using AN/AVS-10 (the first 4 tube nvg) way before than the DEVGRU guys. Apart from these FBI HRT and some other LE units are alo using GPNVG-18 nowadays.

Here some photos from my archives regarding the Delta Force issued GPNVG-18 and AN/AVS-10 panaromic nvgs

Also for the international users of the GPNVG-18, I can count Germany, Italy, France, Ukraine, Turkey, Estonia, Netherlands and Australia, basically NATO and US-friendly countries have access to buy them but its still a very pricey equipment...

There is no info on exactly what units these quiet lads are from but the consensus elsewhere is that the lad with the GPNVG is most certainly CAG given the combo of MCX and GPNVG. I'm no expert mate and I'm happy with only that 1 ID ;)

They're out in circulation with some forces but not as much as it appears. A lot are knock off's of the GPNVG-18 body using standard off the shelf gen 2 optics or tubes, just like a lot of the body armor and other kit you see about. An indicator is that the users are of a western or aligned status and the right level of capability and other kit like comms or weapons etc is of the same standard or comparable. Then you just have to be able to tell the difference between them and LARP's and Military morons.

A blast from the past, the wild late 90's early 2000's, I think, with the CT team of Romanian SPP (the equivalent of US Secret Service, the department tasked to protect the president and the highest ranking officials)

Rather unconventional optics setup. Do you know what red dot is it?

Looks like a Holosun HS506 red dot to me. And for the flashlight setup its to reach the main switch with your thumb without the additional switch-pad. It's a quite common preferred position especially amongst the SEAL units although the rifle shadowing of that is larger than other flashligt setup positions...
