The battle of Znaim (Czech Rep.) occurred during the days of 10th-12th July 1809. It was the last battle of the main front of the Franco-Austrian War of 1809. A four-week armistice followed. On 14th October then, the hostilities ceased due to the signature of the Treaty Of Schőnbrunn. Thus ended Napoleon´s Danube campaign.

Every year in July reenactors mostly from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Italy, Hungary and France reenact this battle. It´s my favorite event in the whole wide world of reenactment. Though to be honest, the last engagement was a bit difficult; had to switch between my musket and my camera, and thus watch out for very keen fighters.

Excellent photos and Information about the battle. Looks like fun and very realistic looking too.
Must cost a fortune to kit yourselves out with all that gear?
