Sapper Brian Lewis of Bayswater, Vic, and 1st Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), is kept busy helping to construct a base for the incoming 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), from Woodside, South Australia. Sapper Lewis measures timber used to build a small number of administrative huts.

Nui Dat, South Vietnam. 1968. Gift parcels collected by South Australian television station, NWS 9, were handed out to members of 104th Signal Squadron at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base. Accepting one of the many cans of beer from Corporal Denis Hare of Macksville, NSW (right), is Signalman Robert Lowick of Prospect, SA. The television station sent cakes, beer, wine, shaving gear, sweets, nuts, books, pens, puddings, fruit juices, biscuits and cigarettes to the Diggers.
