Toss up between the M72 and the M79 between which is the worst to carry. I imagine he was getting hung up on everything on that ex.
One of the special kinds of hate every Infantryman should be introduced to is carrying an M-79 in the close country and/or firing and maneuvering with it. They quickly understand why we have underslung 40mm launchers now.
 
Exercise Alon has wrapped up and HMAS Canberra is en route back to Australia.
Wasting no time, Australian Army soldiers from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment members kept up training with a small arms shoot.

They are a GREAT piece of kit to have the M79 and versatile if you can get the different bombs for them!! (Y) notworthy;

One of the best for launching bombs, and one of the worst for carrying. I remember no grenadier in our Army being sad the day M-203's came into service for our Steyrs and replaced the M79's.

Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade - Australian Army, took part in a blank-fire stalk during a recent Sniper Basic Course at Townsville Field Training Area, Queensland, Sepember 2023. This component of the course hones skills specific to an Australian Army sniper, including camouflage and concealment, stalking a target, marksmanship, firing from a concealed position without detection, navigation, and judging distance.
