BOARDMAN John. Private 16525 3rd South Lancashire Regiment killed in action in France on the 5th November 1918 aged 26 "Duty nobly done" He was the son of John and Elizabeth of 46, Church Street, Warrington. He is commemorated on a memorial on his parents grave in Christ Church churchyard, Croft, Lancashire and he is at rest in Buisgny Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord France.

I asked this question of CWGC and they informed me that if the person in question is not buried at that location it is up to the family if they wish to commemorate him/her by placing a private headstone. They place CWGC headstones where the casuality is actually buried.
