WHITTLE William. Lance Corporal 71984, 1st Royal Fusiliers died 14th June 1918 aged 28 in Aubergue Hospital. He was the son William and Ellen Whittle, of Oakwood Farm, Risley, Lancashire. He is at rest in Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, France. He is commemorated a family memorial in the Croft Unitarian Chapel yard, Lancashire, and also on the Newchurch War Memorial, Culcheth, Lancashire
