A.03.02 Arthur SHAW. Sergeant 27409, 28th Coy, Royal Engineers, stationed at St Francis Barracks, Malta. Born 1872 Lowdham, Nottinghamshire to William and Sarah Shaw. 1881 residing with his parents and siblings at 26 Main Street, Burton Lazars, Leicestershire. Enlisted 29 April 1893 aged 21 years and 1 month, civilian occupation, blacksmith. Husband of Alice Maud nee Reid who he married 15 April 1897 at Alverstoke, Hampshire Promoted to L/Cpl 1 October 1898. Extended his service to 12 years with the colours 1 February 1897. Promoted at Cpl, 1 April 1904. Re-engaged to complete 21 years’ service with the colours 30 December 1908. Served in Malta 11 February 1899 to 18 March 1903, posted back to England. Returned to Malta 30 November 1906 to his death in Valletta Hospital, Malta at 9am 30 December 1908 of enteric fever. His widow was granted a gratuity 23 February 1909, revised 13 March 1909.
A.03.02 John SHEAN. Private 7953 Somerset Light Infantry. Born 1889 at Lamyatt, Somerset to George and Eliza Shean, nee Snook. 1891 aged 2 years residing with his parents and siblings at Lamyatt. 1901 still with his parents and siblings at Hedgestocks, Redlands, Milton Clevedon, Somerset. He enlisted 25 June 1906, civilian occupation, farm labourer. Died in Malta 1st July 1909. His father was granted a gratuity 9 August 1909.
A.03.02 George WESTON. Private 20910 Army Service Corps. Born 1889 at Camberley, Surrey to George and Rose Weston. Enlisted 14 April 1903, civilian occupation, stable boy. Died in Malta 31st January 1910. His mother Rose and sisters, Rose and Mary were granted a gratuity 24 March 1910.
All at rest in an unmarked burial in Pieta, Malta Plot A Row 03 Grave 2.
