Why do these guys look like 2 bit henchmen from the 1970s James Bond movie!? This is because of their "old school" scuba gear. The IDA-71 (i.e individual breathing apparatus) dates back to the early 1970s.
I'm not a specialist, maybe there is something special with these devices, but I've seen other special forces units with much more modern looking scuba gear. Also, Ukraine just contracted some American company to provide new parachutes for its airborne forces. So, hopefully, special forces unit will get some as well.
To be fair. We don't know the context. I doubt that they would use outdated equipment. I've seen UA sof mostly with modern scuba gear.
Older gear is probably just used for educational and familiarization purposes. I know that sof also learn a lot about historical equipment.

Well than it's just a matter of time till they get an upgrade as well.
Let's be real, as horrible as this sounds, if this war didn't happen than the UA would probably still be largely neglected and rotting away in it's Soviet state 10 times more dramaticaly.

Absolutely. Although, I do still consider Ukrainian Military to be a militia with heavy weapons rather than a Western, heck or even Soviet military in conventional sense.
June 4th, 2019 was a bad day for Ukrainian forces with 3 KIA and 3 wounded. Names are not published yet. 2 of the soldiers killed were from 17th Armored brigade whose delivery truck was hit by a Russian ATGM team.
The video of the attack and its aftermath can be viewed here.
Sergeant Vladislav Berezhnoi (forever 23) 54th Infantry Brigade was killed by a Russian sniper on June 5th, 2019 not far from where he was born in Donbas region. He leaves behind a grieving wife and two young kids.
During the wee hours of the morning of June 7th, Russian heavy artillery bombarded the positions of "Azov" regiment scoring direct hits on the unit fortifications. 2 Ukrainian servicemen were killed and scores wounded.
