The commander of the IAF has stated that the attacks may last for up to two weeks. Given the damage that several hours worth has done as well as the few hours in 2024 this imo is an implicit threat to target senior civilian leadership as well as industrial targets.

interesting summary, my only point is about the Iran-Iraq war, going for 8 years, is yes you can do this, if you are next door to each other, this one is air and missile mostly, and probably special forces. If Israel has indeed destroyed a big % of Iran air force, and BM , then its hard to see how Iran would be able to make war, even if it was at war. if at the same time, any Iranian leader made a speech about killing jews or something, and was then zapped by an Israeli F16, then continuing the war is going to be very painful. At this point, and we await Iranian counter attack, the war could already be over, done some shouting.

I'm thinking the delivery of "components" for 800 ballistic missiles by China was really the delivery of 800 ballistic missiles and that accelerated the decision to strike. The port "fire" recently turned out to be very large amounts of solid rocket fuel. Surely another smoking accident.
